What is UCCF and who are the staff worker and relay worker?
UCCF is a fellowship of staff, students and supporters who are passionate about making disciples of Jesus Christ in the student world. Over the past 100 years, Christian Unions made up of Christians from all backgrounds have gathered on University campus’ across the UK and throughout the world, united with the vision of giving every student the chance to hear and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ. UCCF (Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship) is this network of Christian unions and is the UK part of IFES (International Fellowship of Evangelical Students). The Fellowship desires to see student led, vibrant missional communities at the heart of Universities, and UCCF Staff are there to support, resource, and go with students as they hold out Jesus to their friends.

Matty is from Northern Ireland, but has moved around Britain quite a lot since leaving for University. It was during his time at Newcastle University that Matty really learned the importance of evangelism, and started to get enthusiastic about seeing students reached with the gospel, and he’s praying for lots of opportunities to see this happening in St. Andrew’s. Matty loves writing poems, reading books and listening to an eclectic musical collection comprising everything from Busted to Bruce Springsteen. He’s also a big Newcastle United fan, though that’s not been a huge source of joy recently.
We’ve just said goodbye to Andrew and Abi who have been our relay workers over the past academic year. They’ve been great.
This page will be updated once we have more information about next year!
